Senior User Experience Designer
BoardVantage is the leading vendor of board collaboration tools for the world's largest companies. We are in the process of rolling out a brand new team collaboration platform. This is a product that will change the way people work, making them more productive and effective. One of the ways it does this is by including social collaboration features similar to what you'd see in Facebook, Twitter and others. It is a rich web application developed using Flex.
We are seeking a highly motivated and creative individual to shape the user experience of our product as we expand and enhance it.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that the product delights users
- Optimize usability by analyzing functional designs, requirements and existing implementations
- Propose new designs to solve user problems
- Collaborate closely with engineering to refine designs and ensure successful and practical implementations
- Build a library of key use case workflows
- Profile clients using approaches such as personas, roles and contextual analysis
- Develop detailed user interface designs and proposals
- Conduct validation, including usability testing, and incorporate results
- Create best practices framework and patterns for consistent UI
- Participate in and conduct design reviews
- Act as custodian for aesthetic look and feel of the application with great attention to detail
- Listen to customers and incorporate their feedback
- Deliver on-time within project schedule
- Communicate status and issues proactively
- Work with QA to identify and prioritize UI defects and enhancements
- Enjoy developing buy-in from key stakeholders
- Work quickly and iteratively
- Create assets either directly or in conjunction with a graphic designer
Qualifications:
- Proven expertise in designing world class SaaS application user experiences
- Human factors and usability analysis skills
- Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop, Fireworks, Illustrator or alternative
- Graphic, verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a multi-disciplinary product team
- Familiarity with agile product development processes
- Bachelor degree in related field such as cognitive, interactive or graphic design
- 3+ years experience designing web user interfaces
- Flash and Action Script 3.0 experience is a plus
- Candidates will be asked to show examples of previous work
